Production of the Prada Galleria bag, composed of 83 pieces, is an authentic fusion between industrial precision and the refined accuracy of craftsmanship that can only be performed by hand. The accessory, presented in the medium version, is made of iconic Saffiano, a calf leather patented by Mario Prada that is resistant to scratches and water and defined by its crosshatch texture.

Materials and care

Created using a labor-intensive process of heat pressing and wax, the Saffiano technique was patented by founder Mario Prada in 1913 and has been used across the lexicon of the brand’s products ever since. Lustrous and luxurious, Saffiano leather is a traditional leitmotif of Prada, an instantly-recognizable material from our heritage.

Saffiano leather is treated with a wax finish, which makes it particularly resistant to a few drops of rain and easy to clean. We recommend to store your Prada Galleria bag in Saffiano leather in its dust bag in order to preserve its features.
